November 2010 Meeting

The Society's next meeting will take place on Monday 8th November 2010. The talk will be given by Robert Corbett on the RNLI on the County Down Coast.

October 2010 Meeting

The Society's next meeting will take place on Monday 11th October 2010 with a talk on the Belfast City Cemetery being given by Tom Hartley.
Tom is the author of the book 'Written in Stone: The History of Belfast City Cemetery'.

1. A new article covering the Carryduff Umbrella Tree has been added to the Downloads section. Our thanks to Sam McFarlane for background information and to Sandra Gilpin (nee Johnston) for providing the photograph.

The Society's Annual General Meeting was held on Monday 12th April 2010 and the following were elected for 2010/2011:
Chairman: John Cousins.
Tresurer: David Burnett.
Programme Committee: Gillian Hunt, Charlotte Murtagh & Rodney Maxwell.
Publicity Secretary: Gordon Hunt.

Thanks to Cecil Rutledge, our invited speaker, for providing 'Auld Yarns' about Carryduff.
